Hat Boy Software was co-founded in 2015 by September Gray and Matthew Gray. Matthew, our CTO, is a systems engineer with more than 25 years of hands-on delivery — from embedded firmware and real-time systems to multi-cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and enterprise AI. He holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University.
Early clients included Wildlife Dominion, for whom we built the BoarBuster and HogEye mobile apps and their backend.
Today our clients include software publishers, healthcare and healthcare-technology firms, financial-services platforms, and IT-services partners, several of them for five to eight years. Recent work spans HIPAA-aligned Azure environments, enterprise AI platform deployments for a research university, a regional bank holding company, and a professional sports league, multi-tenant agent platforms, and FinOps programs that cut cloud and model spend.
How we engage. A senior engineer leads every engagement and owns it end to end: architecture, implementation, change records, run-books, and knowledge transfer to your team. We start with evidence, fix problems structurally, and tell you plainly when the answer is smaller than you expected.
